The Brothers Grimm fairytale of “Hansel & Gretel” will be performed by more than 50 dancers and extras of the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet during the first weekend in November.
The two-act ballet features a wicked witch, gingerbread children, villagers, vendors, a dew drop fairy, a dream-weaver, a cat, a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker, spun sugar, pastel mints, gumdrops, peppermints, angels, gypsies, owls, bats, birds and stars.
Three public performances are Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2:30 p.m. at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry. Tickets, which cost $12 for children 12 and under, $16 for active military and seniors and $20 for adults, may be purchased through Ticketmaster.com, the Alamodome Box Office or the Carver Box Office.
