9:30 - noon. Susan Ives, editor-in-chief of peaceCENTER Publishing, will conduct a practical, introductory workshop on how to publish your child's book. Whether is is a collection of your three-year old's artwork, a photo-essay about your summer vacation or a novel by your teenager you can publish a professional-looking book just in time for holiday giving. Cost: $15.00
Wednesday, Oct. 20th
7 PM. Wet 3rd Wednesday at Viva: "Land Use and Water: The Human Impact on the Edwards Aquifer." Analisa Peace, Executive Director, the Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance, will be the speaker. She will allow ample time for Q & A after her remarks. No charge.
Saturday, Oct. 23rd
10 AM - 4 PM SoulCollage workshop with D. Ellis Phelps. Using a process developed by Seena B. Frost particiapnts will begin creating a deck of cards in suits using collaged materials. Attendees should bring a journal, a pen, magazines and photos to the workshop. Cost: $45 if registerd by Oct. 18th; $55 after.
Monday, Oct. 25th
6:30 - 8:30 PM. Journey of Hope. The Journey of Hope is a non-profit organization led by murder victims' family members who conduct public education speaking tours and address alternatives to the death penalty. They come from all walks of life. Representatives of this group will speak at Viva on Oct. 25th.
