Aztlan Libre Press, a new, independent publishing company based out of San Antonio, Texas that is dedicated to the promotion, publication and free expression of Xican@ Literature and Art, recently released its inaugural publication, Tunaluna, by the renowned Chicano poet, alurista. Tunaluna is alurista’s tenth book of poetry and first publication in ten years. In order to promote Tunaluna and introduce alurista and his important work to a new generation of college students and young writers, Aztlan Libre Press has scheduled a seven-city “alurista Tunaluna Texas Book Tour” that will bring the San Diego, California author to Texas during Hispanic Heritage Month to do readings, workshops and book signings at universities, colleges, and community-based organizations in San Antonio, Seguin, Austin, Houston, Laredo, Harlingen and Edinburg from October 5th through the 15th, 2010.
