Dona Enriqueta Contreras Mujer Zapoteca de las Nubes
The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center will sponsor platicas given by Master Herbalist/Healer and Midwife, Dona Enriqueta Contreras. Dona Enriqueta's vast knowledge in the healing arts has garnered her respect and admiration. The public is invited to Dona Enriqueta's platicas , Sept 2- Sept 4, 2010 from 7-9pm, These platicas will take place at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center, 922 San Pedro.
The platicas or presentations will cover various topics.

. Sept 3 - Remedios Caseros / Una Canasta Basica
. Sept 4 - Los Cuatro Principios Zapotecos
. Sat. Sept. 4 - Pre/Post Natal Care and Midwifery at 12 pm
Dona Enriqueta a proud Zapotec woman comes to us from the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The book, Mujer Zapoteca de las Nubes written by Maria Margarita Navar, recounts Dona Queta's struggles and victories. Her dedication and respect for her community extends to all of nature. In Dona Enriqueta's 60 years of experience as a midwife and curandera not one mother or baby has died under her care.
